Solitaire is the card game most people learned from a deck on the kitchen table, and here it runs in a browser tab with nothing to install. You deal yourself a layout, move cards between piles, and try to sort the whole deck into four foundations, one per suit, from ace up to king. A game can be over in a few minutes or drag on if the deal is stubborn.
It is a quiet change of pace on a site built around Duck Life 3: Evolution. Training a duck is about steady, patient progress, and a hand of Solitaire scratches the same itch with no timer pushing you and no way to lose except running out of useful moves. It suits the gaps between longer sessions.
This page describes the classic form of the game. The build is a standard card layout, so if you have played it on any computer, you already know most of what you need.
How to play
Everything is done with the mouse or a finger. Click a card to pick it up, then click the pile where it should go. If the game offers undo and hint buttons, use them freely; they are there to keep a hand from ending on a misclick.
In the classic layout the rules are these:
- Cards in the main columns build downward in alternating colours, so a red seven goes on a black eight.
- Aces start the four foundation piles, and each foundation builds upward in a single suit.
- Only a king, or a run starting with a king, can fill an empty column.
- When no move is left on the table, turn over cards from the stock pile to find new ones.
A round ends when all four foundations reach the king, or when you decide the deal is dead and start another.
Tips
- Uncover the face-down cards first. A move that flips a hidden card is almost always better than one that just shuffles visible cards around.
- Do not rush cards up to the foundations. A low card can be more useful as a landing spot in a column than sitting in a pile.
- Think before emptying a column. An empty space is only helpful if a king is ready to occupy it.
- Before drawing from the stock, check every visible move. Once the stock is cycled, you cannot take that look back.

If you like the calm, think-it-through pace, Fish Eat Fish and Crossy Road are quicker and more reflex-driven, while Idle Cowshed and Chicky Farm lean on slow, steady building. For the series that gives the site its name, Duck Life 4 and the original Duck Life are good next stops.
Solitaire fits a single player with a spare ten minutes, on a laptop with a mouse or on a phone with a thumb.
