Duck Life 3

The Duck Life Series: From the First Duck to Duck Life Battle

Published · 2 min read

Duck Life 3: Evolution sits in the middle of a long series. If you have only played one of them, the differences can be confusing — some have four skills, some three, one is a fighting game. Here is how the series grew, and where each game is on this site.

Duck Life (the original)

The first Duck Life, by Wix Games, set up the formula the whole series still uses: a farmer’s duckling, a handful of training mini-games, seed that costs money, and races against other ducks. Its skills are running, swimming and flying, and it is short enough to finish in an afternoon. You can play it on this site under Duck Life.

Duck Life 2: World Champion

The sequel gave the duck a name tag and a bigger goal — the World Championship. It kept the three skills but added more courses, a shop and a longer climb from local races to the world stage. It is the game most players remember as the classic Duck Life, and it is here as Duck Life 2.

Duck Life 3: Evolution

The third game changed three things at once. You choose a breed from four eggs instead of starting with the same duckling every time. Climbing joins the other skills, so there are four bars to train plus Energy. And the duck evolves: as its levels rise it changes body shape according to how you trained it, into forms the game calls the Beefy Duck, the Lanky Duck, the Mer-Duck and the Supreme Duck. The leagues are Amateur, Advanced and Professional, each with a qualifier and a final. This is the game on our front page, served from ducklife3.org as its Unity WebGL build.

Duck Life 4

Duck Life 4 redrew the series with rounder, brighter art and moved the story across several regions, each with its own town, shop and race champion. It keeps four skills — running, swimming, flying and climbing — and adds more customisation. Play it at Duck Life 4.

Duck Life: Battle

Battle is the odd one out. Instead of racing, your duck trains to fight: you pick its colour, give it weapons and gear, and send it into battles against other ducks. The browser version on this site is the free “Lite” edition. It is under Duck Life: Battle.

Which one to start with

If you like short sessions, Duck Life 3 is the best balance: breeds give it replay value, evolution gives every duck a different shape, and each league takes a sitting or two. If you want the classic, play Duck Life 2. If you just want to hit something, Battle. Whichever you pick, the Duck Life 3 training guide covers the energy and training habits that work in every game of the series.
